1円玉でも100円玉でもない10円玉だけの匂い

赤ちゃんだった姪っ子の髪が、ほんの数年分成長した匂い

熟れたメロンの皮の匂い

旅先で感じた空気が、不意に蘇る夕立の匂い

結局聞きそびれたあの人が付けていた香水の匂い

1日だけ存在する、季節と季節の狭間の匂い

生きていると、不意に感じる香りがこう思わせる、

「きっと世界は思っているほど、広くない」

At times, the smell that comes out of the blue makes us think,
“Maybe the world is not as big as we think”

ただ「田」が付く苗字の人に先生は決まって「おそらくご先祖様の時代からお米を作ったり、農家をずっとやってきているルーツがあるのかもしれませんね～」などと、苦し紛れのようなお決まりの解釈で締め括っていたため、おそらく自分の苗字でも農家絡みの話をされるのだろうと想定して。

In Japan, there are many family names using the Kanji “Da (田)” and each time the teacher explained the name with this Kanji, the explanation was something like “maybe your ancestors were harvesting rice or peasant as a routes.” So, I expected the teacher would say something about peasant regarding my family name.

I can figure out approximately the scent of that person by watching his / her hand.

個人個人のDNAレベルの詳細な個体差まではわからないし、そこまで深掘りして見たことはないが、おおよそのカテゴリー分けができる範囲くらいで、何パターンかに分けられる。
「はいはいこの人はこのタイプね」という感じ。
Of course, I can’t tell the difference in DNA level and I’ve never tried. Still, I can figure out into several patterns just like some categories. I feel like “OK, I see, this person is this type.”
